The customer collects the IoT sensor data in the natural gas plants to have local data ingestion, aggregation, and analysis in the edge data center. After a series of local data processing (via their AI & ML tool), the result and original datasets are stored in the edge data center. The application only uploads precise results back to the central datacenter.

Each edge datacenter has limited space, power, and cooling system. The customer can only locate a mini rack on each edge datacenter for computing node, network, and storage.
